Frequently asked questions

Is techpack.live free?

Yes for touring crews. Venues claim their listing, upload documents and use the specs builder and Plan Studio for free. Optional Premium plans (Touring Pro and Venue Pro) add extras like no sponsored content, named download reports and the branded PDF, each with a free trial. See Pricing.

How do I know a tech pack is current?

Every document shows when it was last updated, with a green, amber or red dot for its age, and every venue shows its latest revision. Save a venue and we email you the moment it publishes a change, field by field.

Can I open MVR and other 3D files without special software?

Yes. MVR scenes, GDTF fixtures and glTF/GLB, OBJ, STL, FBX, 3DS, Collada and PLY models open right in the browser, on a laptop or a phone. Orbit, measure, cut sections, see the beams and list the fixtures by type. How the 3D viewer works.

Our venue doesn't have a polished tech pack. Can we build one here?

That's what the Tech Pack Builder is for: fill in the standard specs, draw scaled stage, rigging and power plans in Plan Studio, and build a branded PDF in one click. Every publish is a numbered revision crews are told about.

How do I get my venue on techpack.live?

Search for it; many venues are already listed from packs they've sent out. Choose Claim this venue (or Add your venue) and sign up with your work email. More about claiming.

Does it work on my phone?

Everything works on a phone, including search, previews and the 3D viewer, and you can install it on your home screen like an app.

Who can see our venue's documents?

You choose for each document: anyone, signed-in members (the default), on request (you approve each person), or your team only.

Can venues see who downloaded their tech pack?

Only if you allow it: in Settings → Privacy & data, choose whether venues see your name and company when you download. Otherwise your downloads are counted anonymously.

What file types can venues upload?

PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, ZIP, drawings (DWG, DXF, Vectorworks, Capture, ArrayCalc) and 3D files (MVR, GDTF, glTF/GLB, OBJ, STL, FBX, 3DS, Collada, PLY), up to 300 MB each. Every file is virus-scanned, previewed and made searchable.

Feet or meters?

Both. Choose your default in Settings or switch on any venue page; every measurement, drawing and 3D measurement converts instantly.

Something in a tech pack is wrong or outdated. What do I do?

Choose Report a problem on the venue's page. We review every report and pass corrections to the venue. For show-day questions, the venue's contacts are on its page.

How do I cancel Premium?

Settings → Plan & billing → Manage billing → cancel. You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for. More about your plan.

Why do I see sponsored cards?

They keep techpack.live free: occasional, clearly labeled, with no tracking cookies or third-party scripts. Premium plans never show them. More about sponsored content.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Privacy & data → Delete account. It removes your profile, tours and saved venues and ends any paid plan at once. You can export your data first from the same page.
