Last updated Oct 21, 2026
This policy explains what SYNAP LLC ("techpack.live", "we") collects when you use techpack.live, why, who it's shared with, how long it's kept, and the choices and rights you have. SYNAP LLC is the controller of this information. Contact: info@techpack.live.
What we collect
| Information | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Name, email, password (stored only as an Argon2 hash), company, role, phone (optional), unit and notification preferences | To provide your account and the Service (contract) |
| Venue content | Venue details, specs, documents, photos, staff contacts that venues publish | To publish venue information to touring professionals (contract; legitimate interest) |
| Your activity | Tours and dates you create, saved venues, documents you preview and download, messages, advance sheets | To provide the features you use (contract) |
| Security records | IP address, device and browser, sign-in times, failed sign-ins, downloads, uploads | To keep accounts and files safe and prevent abuse and scraping (legitimate interest) |
| Usage analytics | Pages viewed, searches, clicks, referring site, coarse location (city level), device type. No cookies; the visitor identifier is a hash that changes every day and can't be traced back to you | To understand and improve the Service (your consent where required; otherwise legitimate interest with a right to opt out) |
| Profile photo (optional) | A small 256 × 256 copy of a photo you upload; we never keep the original file | To show next to your name in messages and on venue teams (contract; you can remove it any time) |
| Time zone | The time zone your browser reports, such as America/Los_Angeles | To show times in your own local time on the site and in emails (contract) |
| Payments | Plan, billing status, the last four digits and brand of your card (from Stripe) | To run subscriptions (contract; legal obligation for records) |
| Email delivery | Which emails we sent you, whether they were delivered, and how many times links in our announcements were clicked | To send account, message and update emails you rely on |
We don't sell personal information, we don't use tracking pixels, and we don't share data with advertising networks.
Sponsored placements. Free accounts and visitors may see clearly labeled sponsored listings from companies that serve the live-event industry. We choose them on our own servers from the page you're viewing and your approximate location (country and state from your internet address, looked up for that page and not stored for advertising). No advertising cookies, no profiles, nothing on your device. To avoid showing you the same one too often, we keep a daily-changing, one-way hash for two days. Advertisers only receive totals (how many times their listing was shown and clicked), never who saw it. Premium accounts never see sponsored placements.
Product news and offers are emailed only if you say yes (Settings → Notifications), and every one has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Who can see what
- Venue information is visible according to each venue's settings: public basics to anyone, contacts and most documents to signed-in members.
- Venues you download from can see your name and company in their download list, unless you turn this off in Settings → Privacy (then you're counted anonymously).
- Messages are visible to the people in the conversation (including everyone on a venue's team who handles messages).
- Tours are private to you and the crew you invite.
- Our staff access accounts and content only to support you, investigate reports, keep the Service secure, or comply with law. Every administrative action is logged.
Service providers
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Hostinger | Server hosting (United States data center region chosen by us) and our email mailboxes | All stored data; emails we send and receive |
| Stripe | Payments and subscription billing | Name, email, payment details you enter on Stripe's page |
| OpenFreeMap | Map tiles, fetched by our server and cached | None about you (your browser only talks to techpack.live) |
| OpenStreetMap (Nominatim, Overpass) | Venue coordinates and nearby places, looked up by our server | Venue addresses only, never visitor data |
| DB-IP | IP-to-city database, stored on our server | None sent; lookups happen locally |
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public, and to a successor if the Service is sold or merged (you'd be told first).
How long we keep it
- Account and content: until you delete it or close your account. Backups roll over within 30 days.
- Security records with IP addresses: 12 months.
- Analytics events: 25 months, then only aggregated totals remain.
- Email delivery records: 12 months.
- Billing records: as long as tax law requires (generally 7 years).
- Messages you sent to others: kept in their inbox after you leave, shown as "Former member".
Your choices and rights
- Access and portability: download your data any time in Settings → Privacy.
- Correction: edit your profile, or ask us.
- Deletion: close your account in Settings → Privacy, or ask us.
- Analytics: choose in Privacy choices (footer). We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals as an opt-out.
- Emails: turn off message, update and product emails in Settings; account and security emails are always sent.
- EU, UK and Swiss residents also have the right to object, to restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Our legal bases are listed in the table above. Data is processed in the United States; where required we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses.
- US state residents (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and others) have the right to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising. We won't discriminate against you for exercising a right. Authorized agents may make requests on your behalf with proof of authorization.
To exercise a right, email info@techpack.live from your account's address. We respond within 30 days (45 where state law allows). If we decline a request you can appeal by replying to our answer.
Security
Encrypted connections (TLS), Argon2 password hashing, optional two-step sign-in, virus scanning of every upload, files stored outside the web root and delivered only after a permission check, rate limiting and automatic blocking of repeated failed sign-ins, and least-privilege server accounts. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Children
The Service is for professionals aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We'll post updates here and, for material changes, tell you by email or in the Service before they take effect.
